Where to Watch the 2015 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

It's that time of the year again. This Thursday is Macy’s 89th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade! Starting at 9am, marching bands, balloons, and extravagant float will once again take Sixth Avenue by storm.

The Parade kicks off at 77th Street and Central Park West and will make its way downtown to Central Park South/59th Street. From there it continues down to Sixth Avenue until it concludes at 34th Herald Square at noon.

If this is your first time heading to the parade - here are some recommended viewing areas along the route:

Columbus Circle
The Shops at Columbus Circle open at 9am on Thanksgiving Day - giving you an elevated view of the parade from the second and third floors of the mall! As an added bonus - you’ll be indoors(and warm) and get to see the Holiday Under the Stars light display!

Central Park West
Viewing starts at 75th Street and is only open to the public on the west side. If you don’t mind the early start to your day - be among the other early birds turning up at 6am. The parade passes this stretch from 9 - 10:30am, don’t miss it!

Sixth Avenue
You’ve got a 21 block portion to find a good spot - but you still don't want to arrive later than 7am. Anywhere on Sixth Avenue is perfect for viewing except between 34th and 38th Streets because of the national television broadcast.

If you are not planning to be one of the millions of people that typically line the parade route - we don’t blame you. Opting for front row TV viewing is certainly another option. From all of us here at Central Watch, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
