Unique Timepiece Spotlight: Tourbillon 24 Secondes Vision

The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) - equivalent of the Oscars in the watch world - salutes the excellence of worldwide horological production and annually rewards the finest creations and the most important operators in the watchmaking sector.

Hundreds of watches are entered into the GPHG in 12 categories followed by a pre-selective first round of voting to narrow down each category to six timepieces. An international 26 person jury (of various specialists) meet to vote on the winners - including the Aiguille d’Or.

For a luxury timepiece, there is no higher award than this final award, which is the overall best timepiece from the top 72. And this year’s Aiguille d’Or winner was Greubel Forsey for its Tourbillon 24 Secondes Vision

The Tourbillon 24 Secondes Vision includes 288 moving parts and a fast-rotating 24-second tourbillon. It is also inclined at a 25 degree angle - a feat that’s highly complicated to engineer. Just 22 pieces of this limited-edition watch will be produced, retailing for $325k.
