Choosing a Watch Based on Your Skin Tone

A timepiece is an accessory worn right on top of your skin and is often an easily noticeable piece to an outfit. While wearing a watch you love is important - you may also want to take into consideration how its color compliments your skin tone.

Here’s a quick way to find out which pieces suit you best:
  • First determine your skin tone. Glance at your wrist, or another area where your veins are most visible. If your veins are a bluish color - you fall into the "cool tone" category. If you notice more of a greenish color, you're in the "warm tone" category.
  • Then pick a metal and complementary color. Cooler tones favor metals like silver, platinum, and white gold where warmer tones work well with gold or copper variations. Color wise, jewel tones like pinks, purples, and blues compliment cool skin tones. Warm skin tones fall into the more earthy colors like browns, reds, oranges, greens, and yellows.
Much like how we favor wearing certain colors of clothing, your timepiece too should follow the same theory. Have a warm skin tone but love your silver watch? Try and switch it up by adding a colored strap in favor of your complexion.

Obviously loving the timepiece your wear is important - but it doesn’t hurt to try and make it stand out as best as it can. Visit us at Central Watch for help in that department, we offer a wide variety of colored watch straps sure to fit your cool or warm skin complexions!
