Unique Timepiece Spotlight: Piaget Polo S

Dubbed a new watch for a new generation, the latest release from Swiss watchmaker Piaget gives a nod to its 1979 predecessor - the Piaget Polo. 

The new Piaget Polo S collection revealed Thursday in New York City is a mix between elegance and refinement - composed of the self-winding Piaget Polo S watch (available with a blue, silvered, or slate-grey dial) and the Piaget Polo S Chronograph watch (available with a silvered or slate-grey dial).

The timepiece’s global debut was live streamed - with its entire roster of nine A-list brand ambassadors in attendance.

“It’s a huge honor - not to use unnecessary irony, but there is something wonderful about being associated with timelessness like this and to be out here supporting Piaget and having a partnership with Piaget and this incredible watch - it’s an honor,” said actor Ryan Reynolds in response to how it feels to be a brand ambassador for Piaget.

Reynolds also brought up a subject that we, at Central Watch, are quite passionate about - passing down timepieces as heirlooms:

“[It’s] Interesting for men, there’s very few accessories that you keep your entire life and you have an opportunity to hand something down. So for me, my daughter’s obsessed with this watch - I’ve been wearing it the last couple weeks and she’s been messing with it. What she doesn’t know is her initials are actually engraved in the back of it - and that it will one day I assume be hers.”

Along with Reynolds, Piaget enlisted eight other men from around the world who are all leaders, each game changers in their own profession and who have proven in life and throughout their careers that they truly embody the spirit and ethos of the new Polo S timepiece. These men include actor Michael B. Jordan, polo player Malcolm Borwick, Swiss novelist Joël Dicker, Chinese actor Hu Ge, tennis player David Goffin, entrepreneur Mohammed Sultan Al Habtoor, musician MIYAVI, and chef Jean-François Piège.
