Caring for Luxury Watches
Ever think about how much money you're wearing on your wrist? You wouldn't want anything to happen to it, right? All watches require some special care to keep things operating properly.
Remember these tips to help keep your timepieces in like-new condition:
- Be mindful while wearing - You want your watch to last a lifetime right? Then consider things you undergo daily and choose your watch accordingly. Watches don’t do well in extreme temperatures and if they aren’t labeled as water resistant 100 meters/10 ATM - they shouldn’t be worn while swimming. Be mindful while wearing your timepiece and if necessary - remove and store safely for protection.
- Careful when you clean - As you would treat fine jewelry, be gentle while cleaning your timepiece. Use a soft cloth to wipe down your watch regularly as smudges, accumulated dirt and oil can cause premature wear. Remember, metal watch straps CAN be cleaned carefully with water - but avoid getting leather straps wet.
- Give them expert attention - Nothing beats a professional tune-up. Much like a home or car, routine maintenance and proper care is key to keep things functioning at their peak level of performance. At Central Watch, our professionals have been selling and servicing watches since 1952.
