Van Cleef & Arpels New Rubis Secret Watch
Van Cleef & Arpels continues its tradition of “more than meets the eye” with the unveiling of the Rubis Secret watch at this year’s SIHH. While it may look like a luxurious bracelet at first glance, and with good reason (a cuff bracelet set with 115 Mozambique rubies weighing 151.25 carats), a hidden draw opens to reveal the time.
Adorned with white diamonds, the 18 karat gold bracelet also features a secret side drawer that opens once a hidden hinge is pressed to reveal the watch. The entire piece took more than a year to complete, 1,500 hours alone dedicated to carving the gold to create the settings for the rubies and diamonds.
No price was revealed - but given the amount of work, rubies, and quality diamonds, we can assume it would be well out of most’s price range.
