It’s Fourth of July weekend and what better way to celebrate than with friends, family, and fireworks! If you live in Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Queens with a clear view of the East River, you’re in luck. You get front row seating to the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks extravaganza, which will have 40,000 pyrotechnic shells in 22 colors including new ones like neon highlighter pink, green, and yellow!

For those without that convenient view, there will be five barges set to fire off the fireworks in the East River - one below the Brooklyn Bridge and four positioned between 23rd and 37th Streets. So if you’re looking to be apart of America’s most explosive party - check out the below list of public hotspots for viewing (courtesy of Macy’s):

Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks can be viewed from any area with an unobstructed view of the sky above Midtown Manhattan, Long Island City, Hunter’s Point, Greenpoint, the South Street Seaport and Brooklyn Bridge Park, among other neighborhoods.

Manhattan:

  • Public viewing will be set up along elevated portions of the FDR Drive. Lanes will be open to the public at 7pm with access at Houston, 23rd, 34th, and 42nd Streets.
  • Additional areas include: Broad Street (ground level), Old Slip (upper level), Pearl Street at Frankfort Street.
Queens/Brooklyn:
  • Any point in Brooklyn and Queens with an unobstructed view of the lower East River sky.
The fireworks are to start at 9:20pm and should last for roughly 25 minutes.
