Independence Day in New York City!
Celebrate our nation’s birthday in style with some of these top NYC events:
FREE Pig Roast - The Iron Horse teams up with the Wounded Warrior Project for its 4th annual pig roast! Play some games, enjoy free BBQ and a cash bar. A portion of the proceeds from the bar will go to the nonprofit to support and rehabilitate injured service members.
The Liberty Belle Extravaganza - This event is back for another unforgettable vintage July 4th celebration! Hosted at the Empire Hotel Rooftop, celebrate America’s birth with hot jazz, swing, and country plus sizzling vaudeville, and burlesque in red, white, and blue! More details on their website here »
July 4th Fireworks Cruise- If you're tired of the same routine, change it up by booking a spot on one of New York's fireworks cruises. Enjoy food, drinks, and music aboard a ship while waiting for the fireworks display overhead.
If you’d planning to lay low during the day (especially due to the pending storm NY is in for), the good news is skies are reported to clear before Macy’s annual fireworks! Don’t miss the spectacle, see below for the best FREE places to watch the fireworks show on the East River:
- The elevated portion of the FDR Drive in lower Manhattan by the Brooklyn Bridge.
- The South St. Seaport, which is hosting a pier/party featuring the USO Show Troupe.
- The Elevated Acre at 55 Water St.
- Brooklyn Bridge Park from Pier 1 to 6.
- Brooklyn Bridge Promenade with entry points at Columbia Heights, Pineapple St., Montague St. and Pierrepont St.
Please note, Central Watch will be close tomorrow, July 4th in observance of the holiday. See everyone Monday morning!
