Watches to Watch: SIHH Unveiling

It's time for Geneva's annual luxury watch show! Brands world wide attend the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Switzerland to premiere their latest watches. The SIHH is a private event for professionals who have been invited by the exhibiting brands.

Brands go to great lengths to determine distinction and a stunning appearance; wouldn't want your watch looking like your competitors would you? Check out some of these watches that made their biggest debut:
  1. A. Lange & Söhne – Making its finest finish yet, this watch features a Grand Lange 1 Moon Phase, the gold hands, numerals and buckle glow, while the silver dial gleams. A. Lange subjects the watches to intense heat, enhancing their resistance to decay and changing their color to a succulent blue. The price for this watch is $48,200.
  2. Cartier's First Ever Dive Watch -This year; the brand introduced its first diving watch, an addition to the masculine Calibre de Cartier collection. Above the water, the dial has standard Calibre traits: Roman numerals around the upper half, a curved calendar window and sword-shaped hands. Under water, the hands, dive time indicators, and the bezel's triangular marker glow in the dark. The price for this watch is $8,200.
  3. Piaget, new holder of the title "thinnest watch in the world" - Piaget, an expert in very thin watches, has made the world's thinnest mechanical watch with its new Altiplano 900P, measuring at 3.65mm (0.144 of an inch) wide. The gears on this watch are set into the back of the white gold case, eliminating several millimeters of thickness. The price for this watch is 27,800.
