BALL Watch Company is proud to celebrate Grand Central
Terminal’s 2013 Centennial and has produced an exclusive, limited-edition
timepiece – Engineer Master II Collection – which encapsulates its own
extensive railroading history.
BALL’s latest timepiece is house in a 44mm stainless steel
case, blending sophistication and technology and featuring an automatic caliber
BALL 651 movement. It is available on a stainless steel bracelet or calf
leather strap with a pin buckle.
For easy readability at night, or when moving through the
Terminal, this watch features 15 self-powered, micro gas tubes on the dial and hands.
The crowning technical touch in this watch is a second time
zone feature. In place of Greenwich Mean Time, the watch features Grand Central
time, providing its owner with a constant tribute to the Terminal no matter
where they’re at in the world.
The connection between BALL and Grand Central Terminal can
also be seen on the dial of the watch, where the traditional GCT logo sits next
to the BALL logo, as well as on the watch’s case back, which features an
etching of the iconic clock in the Terminal’s main concourse that has kept
commuters and visitors on time for nearly a century. Packaging for the watch
will also link the two, with the Centennial logo.
Distinguished by its fine materials, precision, quality and
shared railroad history, the timepiece is limited to 999 pieces and serves as a
remembrance of the shared railroad history between the BALL Watch Company and
Grand Central Terminal.
Grand Central Terminal stands as one of America’s greatest
transportation hubs and one of New York City’s most iconic buildings.
Over the course of a colorful and tumultuous 100-year history,
Grand Central has gone from being simply the start and end points of
long-distance rail travel, to being a destination for commuters, tourists and
residents that boasts restaurants, cocktail lounges, a gourmet market and
numerous specialty shops including Central Watch.
