Unique Timepiece Spotlight: Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime

Remember Patek Philippe’s Grandmaster Chime timepiece created to commemorate its 175th anniversary in 2014? With 20 complications and hand filigreed 18k rose gold casing  - this watch was pretty, busy - to say the least.

Well this year, Patek announced a new Grandmaster Chime ref. 6300 at Baselworld - featuring the same complications, but packs them in a clever way to simplify it’s look.

The new timepiece will be made in 18k white gold, with one side of its dual face in ebony and the other in white opaline. Still just as large as its prior, measuring 47 mm in diameter and 16.1 mm thick, this watch will not be made in limited edition. And yes, the price tag is still just as shocking - retailing for about 2.2 million Swiss francs, or about $2.3 million at the current exchange.

Here’s that list of complications, courtesy of bloomberg.com and Patek Philippe:

  2. Petite Sonnerie
  3. Minute repeater
