Free Things to Do on Valentine’s Day

 

Looking for ways to fill up your Valentine’s Day itinerary pre or post dinner? Take a look at some free things New York City has going on this February 14th:

Bryant Park Ice Rink - Midtown West
All Day
Bryant Park’s Winter Village outdoor rink is still open and offers free admission. For a fully free experience, you’ll have to BYO-Skates - otherwise rentals are $19. Enjoy an afternoon on the ice and warm up afterwards at the rinkside restaurant, Celsius.

17th Annual Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade & Festival - Chinatown (Mott/Hester Streets)
1pm - 3pm
Enjoy the Chinese New Year Parade! The spectacle features elaborate floats, marching bands, lion and dragon dances galore, Asian musicians, magicians, acrobats and procession by local organizations. Over 5,000 people are expected to march in the parade, which will start at Mott Street and promenade through practically every street in of Chinatown, finally dispersing at Broome/Forsyth.

North/South Chamber Orchestra Performance - Upper West Side
3pm
The GRAMMY Nominated North/South Chamber Orchestra continues its series of free-admission concerts on February 14 performing four recent works by New York composers.

Comedy at the Knitting Factory - Williamsburg
Doors: 5pm, Show: 9pm
Hosted by Will Miles, Clark Jones, and Kenny DeForest (who are funny enough on their own), this show features special guests each week. Past performances have included unannounced sets from Louis CK, Aziz Ansari, Chris Rock, and more!
