Unique Timepiece Spotlight: Omega Speedmaster Dark Side Of The Moon Collection

“Inspired by the astronauts of NASA’s Apollo 8 mission, the new watches represent Earth’s night lights against the backdrop of space.”

For those who have wanted more variations to Omega’s Dark Side of the Moon timepiece, the wait is over! Omega debuted four new styles at this year’s Baselworld: Black Black, Sedna Black, Pitch Black, and Vintage Black.

Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Black Black - The Black Black has, you guessed it, an entirely blacked out design: an all black dial with blacked out sub-dials, chapter ring, tacky scale, and signage. This timepiece also comes on a coated nylon fabric strap with a black ceramic clasp. SRP: $12,000.

Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Pitch Back - The distinctive feature here is the greenish hue of the Super-LumiNova coating for every detail on the dial and bezel. It comes with a black leather strap with ecru stitching and ceramic folding clasp. SRP: $12,000

Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Sedna Black - While the dial, bezel, and case are still entirely black ceramic - this timepiece is complemented by a bezel ring, indexes, and hands in 18k Sedna gold. SRP: $15,000

Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Vintage Black - The only watch in the set to have a brown leather strap, this timepiece also employs the Super-LumiNova for each of the dial and bezel components - though this time it’s “vintage” (or light brown) in appearance. SRP: $12,000

All of the above timepieces retain the 44.25 mm dimensions, are certified chronometers, and have the same Omega Co-Axial caliber 9300 as the rest of the family.
