Patek Philippe - NEW World Time Moon Watch

Patek Philippe, in addition to Grandmaster Chime timepiece, has released several other limited edition commemorative timepieces, in honor of their 175th Anniversary. Spotlighted today is the World Time Moon Watch, a timepiece that blends old and new by pairing the company’s traditional world time mechanism with an all-new central moon-phase display.
“A company anniversary should not merely be a retrospective, it should also look ahead.. It [World Time Moon] melds the tradition of World Time watches, highly coveted among collectors, with an innovative moon-phase display that makes this poetic complication come alive in a totally new way.” – via Patek Philippe Press Release
At a glance, the time-zone mechanism displays the current time in all 24 zones, listing the names of each major destination along the outside and keeping the hours on the inside. The center features a moon-phase display composed of two extremely thin, superposed glass disks. When combined, these disks show a large, detailed rendering of the moon in its current phase.

Retailing for $48,000 and limited to 1,300 pieces, the men’s model with a 39.8 mm diameter is slightly larger than the 38 mm women’s version.
