It’s time for the annual New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade! Whether you have Irish blood in your veins or just look good wearing green - we wanted to provide a guide to enjoying this year’s march and all that the city has to offer:

Did you know the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the World’s oldest and largest parade? The first official march was held by Irish military men serving in the American colonies in 1766.

The parade goes up 5th Avenue from 44th to 79th Streets with over 150,000 marchers every year. Today, the parade begins at 11am and will end at approximately 4pm. Public transportation and walking are you best options in getting to the parade route. Bonus for our metro north commuters - the parade is an easy walk west from Grand Central!

To avoid the crowds you may want to stand anywhere north of 59th Street and Fifth Avenue and be sure to take note of public restrooms. Some can be found at Bryant Park, toward the beginning of the parade, otherwise be observant of restaurants and hotels - especially if you are up in the northern area of the parade route.

If you’re passing through Grand Central, be sure to pay us a visit. Spruce up your timepiece with a nice green watch band in honor of the holiday! Hope to see you soon!
