Black Friday Sales and Shopping Tips
Thanksgiving weekend has become the unofficial kick off to holiday shopping season with Thanksgiving deals, Black Friday sales, and Cyber Monday discounts to lure in shoppers.
We all know you can score some serious deals this weekend, but it takes some savvy to find the best of the best deals - while fighting the crowds. Below, we've rounded up some shopping tips and sale events in the city to make sure you're on your A game this weekend:
Sales:
- Best Buy - look for daily deals during the countdown to Thanksgiving, sign up for email alerts when new deals are revealed.
- JC Penney - Offering sales leading up to Thanksgiving and Black Friday deals as early as 8pm Thanksgiving Day!
- Macy's - Brave the crowds and Shop All Night, from 8pm Thanksgiving Day to 1pm Friday & 7am - 1pm Saturday November 30th.
- Old Navy - Doors open at 7pm Thanksgiving Day - if you line up early, the 1st 500 in line at each store will be given a chance to win the $1 million jackpot in the Overnight Millionaire sweepstakes. The winner will be randomly selected on Black Friday at 7 pm PT.
- Toys R Us - Black Friday sales start at 5pm Thursday with door busters from 5pm to 9pm!
- Make a shopping list and plan a budget - Make a note of what things typically cost, that way if you're shopping in store or online and the price drops, you know you're getting a good deal
- Do your homework - scan all the major sites for Black Friday deals. A lot of the deals are often available online, and this way you avoid the crowds
- Use technology - Take advantage of your smart phone when you're in stores; price check, comparison shop, and if perchance you find the product cheaper elsewhere, there's a chance the store you're at will match the price. Price-matching policies have expanded this year, and a lot of retailers are matching to Amazon.
