Are you looking for some exciting events in New York City to
attend this July? There are plenty of events happening all over the city that
you can be a part of! Here is a list of
some hot happenings around NYC, courtesy of gothamist.
The Lincoln Center Festival, running from July 5 through August 5,
seeks to showcase the most innovative and unique of what we understand to be
the classical performance arts. This year, the festival will feature performances
from France, Scotland and China, as well as the great US of A, of course. Check
out Alan Cummings in Macbeth, Cate Blanchett in Uncle Vanya, and Mykhail
Baryshnikov in In Paris.
Broadway ticket prices are extremely expensive. However, you can
listen to current hits from on-and-off-Broadway shows for free at Broadway in Bryant Park! Thursdays starting July 12, performers from
shows like Spider Man, The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, Wicked and Anything Goes
will belt out musical numbers over your lunch hour.
Wednesday nights at River Flicks for all of you movie lovers! Classified as "For
Grownups," the series kicks off July 11 with the comparably tame titles Moneyball
and Super 8. All the films will be shown on the Pier 63 Lawn in Chelsea! River Flicks will also provide free popcorn during the
movie!
