Baselworld 2014: Chopard Mille Miglia Watch

Since 1988, Chopard has partnered with the Milli Miglia to produce special annual watches. This year, the brand pays tribute to the race’s early years - when Italian racing teams and automobiles such as Alfa Romeo and Ferrari dominated the podiums. Between its vintage look, the red, green, & white coloring, and the ‘gentleman’s driver-style personality’ - this limited edition is the most distinctively Italian of all the Mille Miglia models.

The slender dial fonts are inspired by those used in the 1920s, the lugs on the 42-mm case are soldered (not screwed), and the face if timepiece features a red tachymeter scale and hands, white dial, with green minute circle - representing the Italian flag. This timepiece will be limited to 2014 pieces with steel case and 250 pieces with 18k rose gold case. Each will be presented on an over-stitched Barenia calf-skin leather strap reminiscent of the bonnet straps on vintage racing cars.
