How often should I expect to change my watch battery?
A battery in a healthy watch should last at least one year. The first battery will last the longest as the movement is new and functioning optimally. As the watch ages it drains the batteries more rapidly. When the batteries die quickly, it is typically an indication that the circuitry of the watch needs to be replaced, and an overhaul is required.
Do I need to get my watch pressure tested?
Pressure testing determines whether or not there are any leaks in the case of the watch. It is absolutely necessary for any watch that is exposed to moisture. A failed test indicates that the seals must be changed. Case parts age past the point of water resistance ask part of normal wear and tear. It is advisable to update the sealing parts of your watch every 3-5 years to protect against costly water damage.
